Mythian sighed and nodded falling silent as she watched some knights sword fight, "they are very good'

Eyes following every move, Mordred nodded. "Incredibly good. I want to reach that level someday." His right hand was flicking at his side as if he were in the fight.

Mythian looked at him "why don't you join them?

Mordred stilled his hand. "Only if they invite me," he sighed. "I'm not popular around here and they all know me. I don't want to push boundaries."

Mythian frowned but nodded. "They ought to invite you"

Mordred laughed. "What makes you say that? They're Camelot's knights; there's no reason they'd train with someone out of Camelot's inner circle or so far below them. And don't say because I'm Arthur's son. I'm not a legitimate child."

"He made you legitimate, remember?" Mythian said.

"He did, but that doesn't mean they'll accept it," Mordred sighed. One of the knights lunged awkwardly, putting him in the direct path of the other knight's sword. Just before the blade could pierce his shoulder, a shadow redirected the blow safely away.

Mythian chukled at Mordred "I can get them to accept you"

"Mythian," Mordred raised an eyebrow. "Should I be concerned?"

Mythian shook her head and walked over to the knights. She curtsied to them, they bowed to her. She then began talking, and laughing, a bit into the conversation she gestured over to Mordred, then men looked st him, they continued talking. Mythian walked back over to Mordred. "You may go spar"

"What did you do?" Mordred asked, watching the men. "Do you have magic I don't know about?"

Mythian laughed, "I only have my charm"

"I'm starting to think it's magic," Mordred muttered, before hesitantly making his way to the men. "My lords," he greeted with a bow.

The knights bowed low to Mordred. "you have a sword Prince Mordred?"

"Not on me," he admitted softly. "And there is no need for you to use my title, my lords. Here, in the arena, you outrank me."

Percival tossed Mordred a sword, "I'll go easy on you, I would not want to embarrass you in front of your wife and child."

Mordred fought back a blush as he caught the sword easily. "Don't worry about it. I want to test myself against the best."

Percival laughed "I'm afraid sir Gawain is busy with his wife"

"Then I get a small break," Mordred laughed. Sliding into a fighting stance, Mordred grinned. "Well, you have a practice dummy. Ready?"

Percival grinned and lunged at Mordred. "Always"

Mordred blocked the attack and swiped at Percival. "Good!"

Percival easily blocked and kicked Mordred's feet out from under him.

Mordred landed heavily and rolled, narrowly avoiding Percival's following strike. Regaining his feet, he spun, lashing out at his opponent's side.

Percival was almost hit, but his surpieror skill let him turn away and strike at the same time.

Percival's sword caught Mordred's sleeve as he jerked away, leaving a thin red line on the younger man's arm. Ignoring the scratch, Mordred switched tactics, circling and watching for an opening. "Not bad," he called. "You're fast."

Percival grinned "you need to be, your scratched, would you like to stop?"

Mordred gave a disgusted snort. "I'm not that weak," he snapped, spotting the opening he'd been waiting for. He started his attack, swinging high before suddenly directing down towards his opponent's legs.

Percival was cut in the shin. He jumped back with a grunt and smile "your good"

"Gawain trained me," Mordred grinned.
