Mythian held the little girl, she had Mordred's cloak wrapped around her. "She's beautiful...what will we call her?"

Mordred studied her for a few moments then suggested, "Ruth?"

Mythian considered for a long moment then nodded "yes...Ruth"

Mordred gave her a weak smile before moving to sit down next to her. "Now what?" he asked.

Mythian looked at him as she leaned back on a tree "we enjoy this for a moment then go back home"

Mordred nodded and stretched out on the ground beside Mythian. "How's Ruth?" he asked after a few moments. "I wasn't entirely sure when I handed her to you."

Mythian nodded, "she's perfect. She's breathing okay, and looking fine"

Mordred instantly relaxed. "Thank goodness. I was so scared I did something wrong. I love you, Myth."

Mythian nodded "I love you too" she said and kissed his cheek.

"Can I...can I hold her?" Mordred asked softly, hesitantly.

Mythian nodded and slowly gave Mordred the baby "she's beautiful"

Mordred cradled Ruth closely. His eyes were soft, vulnerable. "She really will take after you."

Mythian smiled a little "what makes you say that?"

"She's beautiful and she's already won me over without trying," Mordred replied.

"Not really," he shrugged. "I was just stubborn and didn't want to show that I cared."

Mythian smirked "then when did you first start caring for me?

"The first time we talked during my sword lessons," he admitted. "The day you suggested marriage. But I wasn't about to admit it; not to you and not to myself." Looking over at her, he asked, "What about you?"

"I'll work on letting them down more often," Mordred muttered, ducking his head and focusing on Ruth.

"That's good to know," Mordred grinned. Carefully he got to his feet. "We should get back. Ruth probably shouldn't be outside for long."

Mordred frowned. "Would you be able to ride with me? Do you think that would work?"
