"I'd forgotten about that..." Eve swallowed hard. "Do you think they'll grant permission?"

Sham nodded "we don't need their permission to marry, just their permission to get a day ofF and a marital cottage"

Nodding, Eve returned her attention to the bowl. "Which one do we ask? And when?"

"We should ask Mordred...when he is better, The Lady is quiet um... self servicing" Sham tried to say Mythian was selfish as nicely as he could.

His attempt at describing Mythian as nicely as possible made Eve laugh. "That's one way to say it." Glancing at him, she frowned. "But will Mordred give permission? He isn't that much kinder than the Lady."

Sham shrugged "he puts a front on, but I think he is nicer then he portrays"

"I'll take your word for it," Eve sighed. "But you're the one asking. Kind or not, Mordred scares me."

Sham nodded "of course, Lady Mythian scares me" he laughed.

"I can understand that." Leaning against Sham's shoulder, Eve smiled. "Ask him as soon as you can, okay?"

"Of course" Sham kissed her head.

Eve snuggled closer before tilting her head and kissing his cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too" Sham replied, putting an arm around her.

Eve yawned. "I need to send the letter than get some rest." Getting up, she kissed him quickly and smiled. "Good night, Sham."

Sham watched hr "what letter?"

"Hilly had a letter written to Gawain and I promised to send it," Eve explained, leaving out the part that she was the one who'd written it.

"Oh, a romantic gesture" sham said and smiled "good night"

With one last smile, Eve nodded and left. After handing the letter off with instructions about where to deliver it, she went to bed.

Mordred slept through the night and woke early the next morning. Careful not to wake Mythian, he got up, changed, grabbed a piece of fruit from the trey Eve had left the night before, and headed towards the beach.

Mythian rolled onto Mordred's side of the bed, but did not wake.

Sham saw Mordred leaving and ran after him. "My lord!" He called, the ran in front of Mordred and bowed.

Mordred nodded in acknowledgement. "Is there something you need, Sham?"

Sham nodded a little "yes...there is...There is a serving girl...Eve...I quiet fancy her, and plan a future life with her,..but I need permission for a day off to be wed to her, and then a marital cottage for us"

"Eve..." Mordred considered the name for a moment. "Is she the one that sang when my brothers were here?"

Sham nodded "Yes, she did, she has a beautiful voice sir, however she is also the one who dresses Lady Mythian...

"Ah. That's why you're asking me isn't it?" Mordred smirked. "Have Eve bring one of the other girls with her for the next few days so that when you guys leave Mythian will still have someone to help her." He thought for a moment. "You can leave in two days and have three days off."

Sham grinned "thank you sir! I'll owe you a great debt!"

Mordred waved a hand. "Hardly."

Sham smiled "thank you"

"You're welcome," Mordred shrugged. Glancing at Sham, he asked, "Are you still training to be a knight?"

Sham nodded "yes sir, I am"

"If you want to spar again, I'll be at the stables around noon." With that, Mordred continued to the beach. He wasn't sure where he stood with Sham, after he'd admitted most of the rumors were true they'd hardly spoken. I guess I'll find out.

Sham nodded . He smiled a little then turned and went back to the stables, he began practicing his sparring as he worked.
