Arthurian Legend RP

Mythian was looking at him, she opened her lips, but no words came out.

"I love you," he smiled. After kissing her forehead, he left the room and started for the castle. He needed Merlin and he'd do anything to get the sorcerer to help.

"Mordred?"

Mordred blinked. "Gawain?" he asked, swaying. When his older brother steadied him, Mordred pushed him away. "Do me a favor would you?"

Gawain frowned. Yes he got along with Mordred better than the rest of the family, but never had his younger brother asked him for a favor. "What?"

"Watch over Mythian for me. She's in the building over there."

"But..."

"Please!"

Watching the younger male closely, Gawain nodded. "Of course. Are you...?" But Mordred was already staggering away.

Merlin was in his cottage, brewing some sort of strange tea is what it appeared to be. 

Mythian looked at Gawain when he entered

"Merlin," Mordred panted, leaning against the doorway.



Gawain froze when he saw Mythian. Shaking his head, he made his way to her side. "My lady," he said softly, kneeling beside her.

Merlin looked shocked to see him. "Mordred, my boy, what is wrong with you?" Asked the older man  with a frown.

Mythian looked up at Gawain "w-w-a" she said, her eyes shifting to the water pitcher on the table

Mordred waved the question away with a shaky hand. "Need...your...help. Mythian..." He sank to his knees.


Immediately, Gawain rose and poured her a glass of water. Lifting her up carefully, he rested her against his shoulder and brought the cup to her lips.

Merlin walked over and lifted Mordred, helping him into a chair "what's wrong? Now use your words" merlin had never liked the boy, watching Mordred his lips thinned

Mythian was only able to take small sips at a time so most of it ended up dribbling down her chin and onto her neck and collar

Mordred glared at the older man, sensing animosity and making sure Merlin knew it was mutual. "My fiancée, Mythian De'Fluer has fallen ill, and I believe it is the work of sorcery," he managed. "I need your help. I need you to heal her."


Gawain wiped the water from her chin and throat. "Easy, my lady. Is that better?"

Merlin frowned looking at the ground then up at Mordred "and why should I help you?"

Mythian nodded just slightly "hot" she mumbled looking at the ceiling.

"I'm kin to your king," Mordred replied, eyes fluttering. "And would you let an innocent die just because she has ties to me?"


Gawain dipped his handkerchief into the water and draped it over her forehead. "I'm sorry I can't do more."

Merlin pursed his lips "what happened to her?" He asked finally "and what happened to you? Drink this" Merlin said giving Mordred a greyish potion "it'll help with the sickness"

Mythian tapped Gawain's head "Mor.." she said, attempting to say Mordred's name

Making a face, Mordred sipped the drink. "Cursed," he gagged. "There's a symbol on her neck. I'll be fine."

Gawain frowned. "My brother? He went to get help." Gently pushing her hand down, he added, "Rest, fair lady."

Merlin watched Mordred "what has she been cursed by? Or who?" He asked grabbing his staff and a large bag.

Mythian tried to keep her eyes open, but fell asleep quickly anyway

Mordred's eyes darkened. "My mother."



Gawain rearranged the blankets around her and sighed.

Merlin stared then instantly hurried to the door "we must hurry, who knows how much time lady De'Fluer has left" he said rushing to the school.

"At least double what it had been," Mordred told him as he struggled to keep up with the older man. The dizziness was messing with his head and a fog was settling over his vision. He cursed softly as he pushed himself. The potion had given him strength but not balance.

Merlin looked st Mordred "how did you take her sickness?" He demanded as they got to the medical wing, he looked at Gawain then went around the bed and looked down at Mythian, he checked the mark and gasped. "Your mother is cruel. Who did she kill to put forth this curse?!"

Ignoring the question about the illness, Mordred collapsed against his brother ,who started in alarm before forcing Mordred into a chair. "Does it matter who she killed?" Mordred snapped. "The question is can you heal her?"

Merlin ran a hand through his graying hair. "I don't know, I hope so" he said pulling out a large book, flipping through the pages he pulled out a bunch of herbs, potions, and cream like things.  He began mixing things and put a sort of green cream on Mythian neck. 

Mythian's eyes shot open and she let out a strangled cry of pain.

Instantly Mordred's hand was around hers as Gawain watched fearfully. "Mythian?" Mordred whispered. Turning to Merlin, he growled, "What did you do?"

"The cream will draw out poison and infection" Merlin saod , he pulled out a potion, this one a bright red. He slowly let Mythian drink it. Merlin then put an odd looking leaf on top of the green cream, he stroked spark rocks and let the sparks fall onto the leaf, they burned a hole through the middle out. Then  his eyes went black as he pressed his hand to the leaf, whispering some word, over and over.

Mordred watched closely as Merlin worked, trying to learn something he could use, but his vision kept blurring. Shaking his head in an effort to clear it, he ran his thumb across the back of Mythian's hand.

Gawain's attention wavered between Merlin and his brother. There was something off about Mordred, that much was obvious, but he couldn't tell what until Mordred shook his head, exposing the mark on the back of his neck. "Master Merlin," Gawain muttered, trying not to draw Mordred's attention as well.

Merlin glanced up at Gawain, not saying anything as he continued to whisper the word. Slowly Mythian's fever went down, she was covered in sweat, but stopped sweating, her face slowly returned it's color.
Merlin wiped the cream off Mythian's neck then walked around to Mordred and looked at his neck "looks like you're next" he said, he slapped the cream carelessly on Modreds neck, then repeated the same steps he had done to Mythian,

"Oww! What are you doing?" Mordred demanded, pulling away only to collapse into Gawain's arms.

Merlin grabbed Mordred and pressed his palm against Mordred's neck, whispering the words again, not as long as he did to Mythian "you'll be fine, you weren't as far along as her...she will be alright, but she needs rest."

After several seconds, Mordred relaxed under Merlin's touch. When the older man pulled away, Mordred sighed, feeling his mind clear. "Thank you...Merlin," he muttered grudgingly. "I'm in your debt."

Gawain blinked. Did his brother really just...?

Merlin nodded and set two files off the same potion beside Mordred "one is for you, one is for her, one spoon full a day. Now, why did your mother do this?"

 Mythian looked around tiredly.

Mordred curled his lip at the bottles but accepted them. Taking Mythian's hand, Mordred avoided Merlin's gaze. "Why does my mother do anything? She thinks Lady De'Fluer is in the way of her plans."

"What plans?" Merlin asked staring directly st Mordred

Mythian wrapped her fingers somewhat around Mordred's hand.

"I don't believe that's any of your business," Mordred replied, before running a hand down Mythian's cheek.
