As soon as Merlin was out of the room, Morgana returned to her human form and stepped out of the shadows. "Hello, Arthur. It's been awhile. How are you?"

Arthur instantly turned and glared he put a hand on his sword "what do you want?"

"Is that anyway to greet your sister?" Morgana huffed, crossing her arms. "I don't play favorites between you and Morgous so stop acting like I'm your enemy."

Arthur crossed his arms "what brings you heRe?"

"I've missed you," she replied with a smile. "I wanted to see my brother again and to find out how he's doing. Merlin seemed quite flustered when he left. Is everything okay?"

Arthur roller his eyes "it is his own fault he is flustered, but he will be fine, Mordred is visiting, he had a child"

"That's wonderful! I'm sure he's thrilled. Though I'm surprised he's here; I thought you two weren't on speaking terms," Morgana exclaimed, watching him closely.

Arthur shrugged "He's changed for the better I'm sure"

Eyes gentle, Morgana put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Arthur, and I'm sure this means the world to your son. Have you spoken often? Have you gotten to know him?"

Arthur frowned "not much, no, he usually spends time with his wife or trains with Merlin"

"You should try to reach out to him more. He probably hasn't approached you because he's still nervous; he doesn't trust or open up easily, Arthur. Not that we can blame him for that. But right now he needs to know you're there for him." Moving to look out the window, she added, "That is, if you actually care about him."

Arthur nodded and ran a hand through his hair "it's hard to approach him"

Gentle, Morgana returned to his side and put a hand on his arm. "May I ask why?"

"He is my son Morgana... how do you approach a son who you have neglected and even tried to have killed st times since his birth?" Arthur asked looking out a window

"Carefully," she smiled. Then, growing more serious, she shook her head. "Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for that, only suggestions that may or may not work."

Arthur Looked at her "what suggestions?"

"First off, don't approach as a king, approach him as a father. Gentle, calm, understanding. From what I've seen he rarely has a chance to act young. He's a husband, a father, a prince, and a victim of rumors and hate. He may need you to listen and let him vent his emotions." Tilting her head, she added. "And don't expect him to open up right away. It might take time."

Arthur nodded in shock "I think your right Morgana..._

"Aren't I always?" she teased before gently nudging him towards the door. "Go on, Arthur. Go find your son."

Arthur nodded and left "thank you Morgana!" He called them went in search of Mordred.

"Of course, brother," Morgana nodded, even though he was already out of sight. Being neutral was fun. She could play with both sides. Now to see how this would turn out.

Mordred had moved from the roof to a rarely used balcony and was leaning against the wall, eyes unfocused.

Arthur walked onto the balcony "Mordred?"

Startled, Mordred whirled, the shadows collecting around his hand until he recognized Arthur. Releasing the shadows, he bowed. "Your Majesty. Is there I can do for you?"

Arthur nodded "no need to say your majesty, I am your father, so you should call me so"

Caught off guard, Mordred studied him warily before saying, "Yes, Father. Is there something you needed?"

"I just wanted to see how you were doing" Arthur said sitting in a chair

"Well enough," Mordred shrugged, avoiding Arthur's gaze. He wasn't sure what to say around his father; they rarely spoke after all. Hesitant, he asked, "Have you seen Merlin?"

Arthur nodded "I have, he's not happy your here"

"He made that pretty clear earlier too," Mordred snarled, temper rising again. "I don't get what his problem is! Out of the two of us, I have more reason to hate him than he does me." Catching himself, he flinched. "Forgive me, your...Father. I know he's your advisor."

Arthur nodded letting Mordred speak. "He worries for me, I am trying to get him to see you are changed for the better"
