Gawain raised an eyebrow at Mordred who mouthed, "Mother bear." The older Orkney smiled before turning his attention to the baby in his wife's arms.

"She really is," Mordred agreed, stroking the back of Mythian's hand soothingly.

Mythian nodded "and she's as smart as her father"

Hilly smiled "I bet she is, doesn't she look smart Gawain?! Here you hold her too!" Hilly said excitedly giving Ruth to Gawain.

"I don't know about that," Mordred shrugged.

"She does look smart," Gawain agreed as he adjusted his arms to accept the sudden cargo. This close, Ruth's resemblance to her parents was even stronger and he couldn't help but be impressed (and hope that she wasn't completely like them. The world would be in trouble otherwise.).

Mythian raised her eyebrows "what do you mean Mordred?"

Ruth blew spit bubbles and smiled at Gawain

"She seems smarter," he smirked, nodding to the spit bubbles with a grin.
Gawain laughed and shook his head. "You really do remind me of your father."
"I never did that," Mordred protested.
"No, of course you didn't," Gawain teased.
"Gawain..."

Ruth squealed in delight.

Mythian chuckled a little and rubbed Mordred's when. "Do you believe you will have a child Gawain?"

Hilly stood straight nodding brightly with a grin

Mordred rolled his eyes and leaned against the headboard.

Gawain smiled. "We'd like one," he replied. "But I don't know when that'll happen. Preferably sooner rather than later."

Mythian smiled "then you'll have your own to hold" she said

Hilly grinned "oh I can't wait! Gawain said we could work on it as soon as we get back!"

At Hilly's response, Mordred had to duck his head and bite back a laugh when Gawain blushed deeply. "Did he?" Mordred managed, ignoring his brother's warning glare.

Hilly nodded quickly. "He said he'll give me all night!" She said cheerfully

Mythian remained quiet, suddenly taking interest in the blanket on the bed

It took all his self-control not to laugh at his older brother. Swallowing his amusement, Mordred nodded. "I see. Hilly, are you still with the company?"

Gawain relaxed a bit at the change of topic, though he refused to look at Mythian.

Hilly frowned and shrugged. 'I don't know,..they are still my family...but I married Gawain"

"Oh," Mordred muttered, not sure how to respond to that. "Have you visited them since you got married?"

Hilly nodded "I went twice when Gawain came to train with the knights"

"It must been good to see them," Mordred mused. Turning his attention to Gawain, he asked, "How is training going?"

"As well as usual," Gawain shrugged, careful not to jostle Ruth. "What about you?"

"My control is pretty good and I'm definitely stronger," Mordred replied.

Mythian nodded. "He is doing so well, He can do anything he likes" Mythian smiled at Mordred.

Hilly looked at them "Gawain is the best night in all of camelot!"

Mordred kissed Mythian's cheek. "Thanks, Myth." When Gawain looked like he was going to protest Hilly's claim, Mordred cut him off. "She's right you know. Only Arthur can beat you on a regular basis. All the other knights respect your skill."

Gawain ducked his head modestly. "I guess so."

Mythian nodded a little "I would like to hole my child now" She said holding her arms out for Ruth.

Hilly sat down on a chair as she watched Gawain.

Gawain handed Ruth over to Mythian. "Here you go."

Mordred smiled, knowing Myth would relax more now that she had Ruth again.

Mythian held Ruth close to her, leaning back.

Hilly nodded and smiled "is it hard being a parent?"

"It can be difficult," Mordred shrugged. "There's a lot of work, but it's worth it."

Gawain moved to sit down beside Hilly and wrapped an arm around her waist.

Mythian smiled down at Ruth."it's the most rewarding job of them all' she said kissing Ruth's head,

Hilly leaned into Gawain. "I can't wait for that"

"Agreed," Mordred smiled, kissing his wife on the cheek.

Gawain played with Hilly's hair. "Like I said, hopefully sooner rather than later."

Hilly nodded and stood "let's go get to work on that Gawain!"

Mythian looked away from Hilly and Gawain and shook her head.

Gawain turned bright red. "Hilly..."

Holding back a laugh, Mordred waved a hand at them. "Go ahead you guys. Have fun."

"Mordred," Gawain groaned.

Hilly looked at Gawain and frowned "whats wrong? Do you not want too?"

"That's not it, Hilly," Gawain reassured her. "But I'd rather you not mention our 'plans' to others."

Hilly frowned "why not?"

Mythian looked up "perhaps this is a private matter for you two to discuss"

"Forgive us, Lady Mythian. We shall take our leave." Rising he nodded to his younger brother. "It was good to see you again, Mordred."

"You too, Gawain." With a quick glance at Hilly, Mordred added, "Good luck."

Carefully taking Hilly's arm, Gawain turned to the door. "Let's head back."

Hilly nodded and smiled at him as they walked out of the room. "it's gonna be so much fun Gawain!"

Mythian wrinkled her nose "what an inappropriate woman"
