Lancelot smirked "I would, but I won't humiliate you"

Mythian nodded, but her face had paled. "I don't feel so good..."

"No, I want to see this," Charlotte replied. "After lunch, I want to face you."

"We'll be there soon," Mordred told her, gentle, nervous.

"Well how do you plan to do that?" Lancelot asked.

Mythian nodded and leaned back. "What's wrong with me?" She asked quietly.

Charlotte shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe spar?"

"I don't know," Mordred admitted, voice tight.

Lancelot almost chocked. "Spare? With a woman?"

The carriage soon stopped. Mythian looked up at Mordred.

"Yes," Charlotte snarled. "Problem?"

"You'll be fine," he murmured. Carefully, he lifted her and carried her from the carriage.

Lancelot frowned "But you could be hurt"

Mythian rested her head against his chest, as they walked up, then doctor opened the door,

"Try me," she challenged.

"Please, will you look her over?" Mordred asked, almost begging, when he spotted the doctor.

Lancelot frowned "it's...it's not normal!" He tried

The doctor nodded quickly, stepping aside "set her on the table there..." he gestured to a table that had a thin mattress on in.

"You aren't getting out of this," Charlotte snapped.

"Thank you." Careful not to jostle her, Mordred lay her down on the table. Moving to stand beside her, he took her hand.

Lancelot nodded a little. "I'll see.."

The doctor walked over and took a breath of nervousness. "Didn't think I'd ever see you, Prince Mordred" he said awkwardly. He looked between the two and felt Mythian's head, then rested a hand on her chest shaking his head. He then put his hand over her heart, trying to feel it's beating.

"Oh no you don't!" Charlotte growled. "You're going to spar with me."

Mordred watched him closely. "And why do you say that? How is she?"

Lancelot sighed "fine" he finally gave up.

The doctor shook his head. "I heard rumors you have magic. I need her to open her legs" he said, normally he would never do such a thing, always leaving these check ups to midwifes, but he feared Mordred.

"Good." Arms crossed, Charlotte leaned back, smug.

A shadow twirled around his finger. "The rumors are true." Glancing at Mythian he asked, "Are you okay with this?"

Lancelot sipped his mug "bossy" he murmured.

Mythian looked horrified but slowly opened her legs and buried her face in Mordred's stomach, refusing to look.

The doctor sighed and put his hand up, feeling around for a moment. He pulled back and began washing his hands. He turned back, checking Mythian's eyes, and inside her mouth. 'My Lord, might I see you in the other room?"

Charlotte smirked. "Why thank you."

Mordred's eyes never left the doctor as the man checked Mythian, even when she hide her face and all he could do was stroke her hair. When the doctor asked to speak with him, his blood went cold, but he nodded. "I'll be right back, Myth," he promised before following the doctor. "What's wrong with her?" he demanded as soon as they were out of hearing range.

Lancelot laughed "you are a tricky woman Charlotte" he laughed.

The doctor nodded and took a breath. "She's been poisoned, and there is nothing I can do..."

"I'm a gypsy," she reminded him. "What did you expect?"


"Poisoned?" Mordred repeated, swaying slightly. "How? What kind?"

Lancelot chuckled "I have no idea"

The doctor shook his head "probably something in a drink.... Sir, it's a poison only magic folk can conjur"

"Then don't be surprised." Taking a sip, Charlotte finished the last bit of her meal.

"Morgous," Mordred growled, eyes turning red. "But how did she manage it?" Shaking his head, he moved to go back to Mythian. "Nevermind. I need to heal her first."

Lancelot finally finished his food.

Mythian looked at Mordred "What's going on?"

Reaching out, Charlotte grabbed his hand and dragged him from the table. "Let's go," she smirked.


"Poison," he replied. "I'm going to try to heal you." Taking her hand, he focused his magic and sent it flowing into her, searching for the poison in her system.

Lancelot raised an eyebrow "what? Now?!"

Mythian began to tremble. "Am I going to die?!" She asked panicked, the poison has spread nearly all throughout her body, it was trying to break through her womb to get to the baby, and was beginning to spread near Mythian's heart.

"Yes now!" she laughed. "Why not?"


"No," Mordred promised. "I told you I wasn't going to lose you and I meant that." His jaw clenched as his magic caught the poison. Glancing at the doctor, he asked, "Any suggestions?"

Lancelot got up "okay then, I'll go easy on you"

The doctor shook his head "I don't know...I don't know magic"

Mythian looked at Mordred, she reached over and clenched his hand.

Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Suit yourself."

Swallowing hard, Mordred gripped her hand. "This might hurt," he warned as he sent his power burning through her. Please work, he begged. Please!

Lancelot began walking out "let's go then"

Mythian screamed and thrashed in pain as the poison was being burned from her insides.

Charlotte followed him, excited, sometimes racing ahead of him or walking at his side.

Sparing a sliver of magic, Mordred transferred half of her pain to himself. Something he had learned while training was that nothing could be removed completely, only rearranged. Jaw clenching, he focused on removing the poison.

Lancelot shook his head at her, smiling a little. Where did these gypsies retrieve so much energy?

The pain was still enough to make Mythian whimper until all the poison was finally burned.

Charlotte beat him to the castle and was tapping her foot impatiently. "Hurry up!"

Once he was sure it was gone, Mordred released her hand and slumped to the floor, eyes glazing. His training was paying off; if he hadn't trained, his endurance never would've lasted long enough to destroy it. How was it that strong? I should've been able to do that without that much effort.
