"Morgous has Gawain," he replied tiredly, leaning into her for support. "His wife, a young woman named Hilly, came a few hours ago hoping I could help. But I..." his voice caught, but the usual reaction from his magic didn't come; he'd used it all. "I can't," he finished. "There's nothing I can do!"

"when did he marry?" Mythian shook her head "there is nothing for you to do, but what did you sggest to the girl?"

Mordred shrugged. "Recently, I guess. And I told her to try Arthur. He cares about Gawain enough to try something at least." Leaning even further against her, Mordred turned so he could hide his face against her shoulder. "I just wish I could do something; he's the only family I get along with. If Morgous..." he trailed away, too tired to think about what his mother could do or how he'd respond.

Mythian stroked his hair "come inside and rest Mordred..."

He shook his head weakly in protest. "Not yet," he muttered. "Once I have enough magic again I need to train. I'm too weak. I have to get stronger; there isn't enough time for me to rest."

Mythian shook her head "all you do is train! you must rest or you will never be strong enough!"

Mordred considered her words for a moment before nodding. "You're right. I'm sorry, Myth." Slowly, he dragged himself to his feet before offering her a hand. "Let's go inside."

Mythian held his hand as they walked "You go right to bed, I will have food brought up to you"

"Stay for just a little while?" he asked. "I need to know at least one person I care about is safe."

Mythian nodded as she helped Mordred into bed, even helping to take off his boots. "of course, but it is two" she smiled gesturing to her stomach.

"I'm more tired than I thought," he smiled, placing a hand on her stomach. "If I forgot about our child." Eyes fluttering, he stretched out on the bed and shifted so there was room for her beside him.

Mythian climbed onto the bed. "Hopefully you wont forget when it arrives" she chuckled "and you need more rest then you allow yourself"

"What makes you say that, Myth?" Mordred asked, words slurring a bit as he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close.

"You can't even speak properly" mytbian sighed,

Yawning, Mordred nuzzled her cheek. "Sorry, my lady."

"Sleep my love" My than told him quiet.

Slowly, the tension drained from Mordred and he relaxed into a much needed deep sleep.

Myhian kissed his forehead then got up and went to get him food,

Eve glanced up from the vegetables she was chopping as Mythian entered the kitchen. Curtseying deeply, she asked, "What can I do for you, my lady?"

Mythian nodded then sighed. "I need a nice meal prepared for Mordred to be taken to his room"

"Of course, Lady Mythian," Eve nodded. As she began preparations, she glanced at Mythian hesitantly. "Is everything alright, my lady?"

Mythian sat at the counter signing "Mordred is working himself to death..."

"He has seemed weaker than usual," Eve ventured cautiously. "Will he be alright?"

Mythian looked down "I don't know" she said sadly,

Eve reached out cautiously and put a hand over one of Mythian's. "I'm sorry; I wish I knew of someway to help."

Mythian shook her head putting one of her hands over her face "It doesn't r get worse then being forced to watch as your husband slowly destroys himself'

"Have you told him that?" Eve asked, heart twisting in sympathy. "Surely he'll listen if you tell him."

"What makes you say that? He never listens" Mythian said quietly.

"He loves you," Eve pointed out. "I don't know much about what's going on in your lives, but it's clear he wants to keep you safe. Remind him that you need him alive for that."

Mythian nodded "that's perfect. Thank you ...eve" she said after a moment.
