Cat + Mouse

She hardly notices their change in position, partially due to his carefully breaking their fall and partially due to the fact that her mind is entirely focused on him. As such, she finds herself blinking owlishly and trying to collect her scattered thoughts as he extricates himself from his vest and belt.

Leather goes flying as she sits up, perching on the edge of the mattress and breathing deeply through her nose to slow her racing pulse. If I'm not careful it'll beat right out of my chest, she thinks, pressing her palm against her chest as if to slow her heart that way. Wouldn't that be a point of pride for him, being able to say he could do that.

As the pounding of her heart slows slightly she leans back, extending her arms behind her and bracing the heels of her hands against the mattress. The view from her position is delightful, and she makes no attempt to hide her admiration of his body. He really is, to use the mortal saying, built like a Greek god - all hard muscle from his several thousand years of training.

It's even a little intimidating, especially since she knows exactly who she might be compared to in his mind. Her own body isn't a patch on Aphrodite's, she knows, and for a moment she wonders if this might not be such a good idea. Why on earth would he want you? A little voice in her head mocks as she reaches up to roll the pin holding the strap of her chiton together between her fingers. Who would want petite and rounded when they could have someone like Aphrodite?

She doesn't have an answer, but her shape is hardly secret. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it, she thinks, a smile spreading across her lips as she pushes the strap beneath her fingers aside and then moves to do the same with the other. So why does it matter?

Leaning forward, she grasps his wrist and draws him back towards her with a smile.

Ares liked the fact that the goddess had made herself comfortable and his pride is stroked as she takes in the sight. While he was very vain, he knew that he appealed to the opposite sex, and had used that to his advantage, it still was nice to have others confirm it. It stroked his ego and while he knew it didn't need boosting, it was who he was. It helped that she wasn't taking the opportunity to flee either. While they were in her room, she could still decide to back out and leave Ares no chance but to do the honorable thing and leave her quarters so she could return.

However, from the expression on her face and how much she seemed to be giving into the moment, releases some of his concerns. His eyes immediately go from her face to follow her hand that went up to her clasp; staring hungrily as it is undone. Unconsciously he wets his lips then blinks when she pushes aside the other strap. Eagerly, he lets himself be drawn in to kneel on the edges of the bed caging her.

His gaze travels down to where he'd been sampling last time and he bends down again to continue where they'd been before she'd interrupted secure in the knowledge that she wouldn't halt it this time. They both wanted this and wanted to explore where it would lead. On some level he thought it was something they both needed as well. Part of his being wanted to see the goddess come undone and wanted to be the one to do so.

With a contented sigh, she tips her head back as he sets to work on the skin previously covered by the strap of her dress - the same spot he'd been so intrigued by during their last encounter. For her own part, she sits up as best she can to free her hands. Her fingers trail over his skin, exploring the dips and valleys where one muscle ends and another begins, as well as the raised edges of what must be scars, though she can hardly see them.

Once her quasi-curiosity has been sated, her hands trail upwards, fingers combing through the thick curls that cover his head before meandering down to cup his jaw. Holding him still, she leans in to kiss him deeply.

The kisses he's been applying to her shoulder and collarbones are lovely, but they don't satisfy the wanting she's pointedly being ignoring for so long nearly so well as the feeling of his lips on hers. Later she'll likely be surprised at her own passion and audacity, but for the moment her only thought is finally fulfilling what's been a long time coming.

When she moved to sit up, Ares wrapped his arm around her waist to steady her and the other to brace them. At the touch of her fingers on his back doesn't cause him to hesitate. Not like the first time after he'd received them. He'd been so angry and couldn't understand why they had stayed there, but someone had told them that they added to his personality and character. After that he learned to accept them and even had pride in them. Still, he was just as happy that her touches didn't linger on the scar tissue but encompassed all she could reach.

Ares was reveling in her touch until she had done what he'd done to her and had him still. He nearly growled as he gazed at her with curiosity and impatience. He was well rewarded with her kiss that he returned in equal fervor. Feeling her need rising and how she seemed to be in tune with him, he grinned wickedly down at her after he broke the kiss. She might not dislike his tricks now, he thought as he rid himself of the last barrier between them and grabbing her moved them higher onto the bed.
