So this is a fun challenge/game to try for writers who enjoy fanfiction. Simply stated, I'll give an excerpt of a story that's pretty popular and each person who posts can either choose to edit what was posted above them or add to it in their own words. Say we start with the Harry Potter series and I post the scene about Hagrid bursting in. A player can add to the scene, or take what was written above their posts and change it. When you do change it, turn your changed section another color. If you're adding, bold it. Hope that makes sense.

Let's start simple...

Outsiders by S. E. Hinton - Pg. 1

When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. I was wishing I looked like Paul Newman —he looks tough and I don't—but I guess my own looks aren't so bad. I have light-brown, almost-red hair and greenish-gray eyes.

You should read Outsiders. It's a classic that I read in High school.

If we start with Twilight you can provide the excerpt for that. Haha Wink

You're on! One question: Is the excerpt from the original story or a fanfiction one?

Good question. Can be either or then. If Fanfiction just put the link to it above the excerpt you give. Might make things more interesting.

Twilight, Love Conquers All by Aunt Bran

Okay -- for my fellow Twilight lovers. Here's an excerpt from one of my stories, Love Conquers All.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9169162/1/Love-Conquers-All

Sam had become distant, and he disappeared for long periods of time with no explanation. Leah had no way of knowing that he could hear every word she whispered now. All his senses were heightened, and it was killing him that he couldn't tell her. And now this. He couldn't take his eyes off Leah's cousin, and as he focused on her face the entire world blurred around her. What the hell was going on?

Argggg Romance Razz

He must be dying. That was it. He hoped Leah never found out about the disease spreading throughout his body, but he couldn't stop thinking about it and how Leah might react, though he could hear her. Would she be scared? Or try to stay with him until the bitter end?

Changed one part and added to it. Let's see if anyone can keep that going. Lol

Besides, I have youth on my side -- though I have to admit, if only to myself, that the man ages well.
