Eve rose slowly, watching Mordred warily. He seemed distant, reserved. Nothing like how Sham had described him earlier.

"That's right," Mordred replied. "I need dinner for two delivered to our room."

Sham nodded "Of course My lord" he said and instantly began making the plates

Eve hurried to his side and began helping him. "Is this anything like how he acted earlier?" Eve whispered.

Sham shook his head "Nothing like it" he whispered back. "is there anything you two would like in particular?" Sham asked Mordred.

Eve frowned. "What happened?"

Sham turned back and began fixing the food again the whispered to Eve "I don't know" he turned back to Mordred. "would you like me to carry them up sir?"

Mordred shook his head. "No, I'd rather bring them up myself. Thank you, though."

Stirring the pot of stew that she was reheating, Eve glanced at Mordred."I wonder what happened."

Sham put it into bowls then set everything on a tray and gave it to Mordred.

Taking the tray, Mordred gave them a quick nod and moved to the door.

"If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask," Eve told him.

"Of course," he replied and left.

Eve shook her head, as confused as him. "Did something happen when you last saw him?" she asked.

Eve shivered. "What's true about him?"

Mythian sat in bed reading a book, still undressed.

Eve shrugged. "I'll let you figure it out. I'm going to try to avoid him for now."

Mordred slipped into the room and smiled at her. With a flourish, he offered the tray to her. "My dear, may I present your dinner."

Sliding into the bed beside her, he took a bowl and sipped at it. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

Mythian leaned against him slightly as she ate. "I feel fine" she smiled "you worry so much about me"
