Team Aqua Vs. Ruby 1

Welcome to a little side event! Now that the characters have started developing we'll do a sort of Red Vs. Blue kind of game. The object of this game is to get 5 posts from your team in a row! Some of your teammates might still be away or not actively participating, but this game is for those wanting to do so. Even if you haven't completed Event 1 you can play.

The object of this game is simple. Reply below with an RPG post (minimum of 25 words or more or it doesn't count) with your character name. You're roleplaying that your character is attempting an obstacle course on the camp grounds.

What you'll do inside the Obstacle Course:
-Running a mile
-Jumping over hurtles
-Swimming across a lake
-Balancing across a beam
-Pulling a tire with your team

If the other team posts right after you, then the count for 5 posts from your team in a row starts over. The other team can post about interfering with your team or just being ahead.

Dylan smirked as all of the other runners took off ahead of her. She could easily run a mile, and could probably beat most of the others too, but what did she care? She stuck her earbuds into her ears and hummed along as she jogged down the road through the camp.

(Oh whoops ignore my other post, I did that at like midnight and didn't read the whole thing)

Whitney broke of into a run. It was easy for her as she had plenty of energy to burn. She ran as fast as she possibly could, but ended up stopping to poke a stick into a ground hog hole then kept running. Her hair was a hot mess, and when she passed Dylan she slowed to a jog. "YOUR GOING SLOW DILLY! FASTER OR WE'LL LOSE!" She yelled then ran more, and jumped over the hurtles with ease.

Dylan gave Whitney a strange look. Did she EVER calm down? Also, 'Dilly'? That was a first. Shrugging it off, she continued to jog at her own pace. After passing the mile marker, she came to her first hurdle and stopped. She realized she didn't have enough momentum going to jump over it. Looking around, she made sure that no one was watching, and carefully ducked under it instead.

Whitney jumped into the lake and started paddling her arms, unfortunately, she was a weak swimmer, so was mostly just splashing around in the cool water.

After ducking under the last hurdle, Dylan paused when she reached the lake. She had her iPod in her pocket, and there was no way she was going to risk short-circuiting it. With a sigh, she looked around for a way around. Her eyes lit up as she spied the camp boathouse, a little ways away. Jogging over, she pulled out a small canoe and a paddle, dragging them over to the water and climbing in.

Ashlyn smiled softly as she watched Whitney take off at a sprint. Not for the first time she wondered where the other girl got all her energy. Dylan was jogging at her own pace and Ashlyn followed her example. Running wasn't a problem, she ran with her brother on a regular basis, but she didn't enjoy the idea of wearing herself out before the rest of the course. It was better to pace herself. Maybe she'd get lucky and Team Ruby would use up their energy at the start.

She passed Dylan and sighed when she saw the hurdles. She wasn't a great jumper and they were too high. So she just scrambled over them, hoping it still counted because she was technically going over them. Falling off the last one, Ashyln rubbed her back before turning her attention to the lake. The sparkling water was beautiful and inviting. Whitney was already swimming...well sort of...Ashlyn caught a laugh before it could escape. It wasn't right to find it amusing.

Felix took off at the starting line, pacing himself for one mile. Felix grew up in a large city where walked most places, so he knew how to pace himself properly. He saw others sprinting past him, not sure whether or not he had enough energy to match their pace, Felix remained at his speed. When he saw the hurdle he tried his best to jump it, but his leg caught on the hurdle and he more or less fell over the hurdle.

Felix continued down the path until he saw the lake. He sighed heavily and looked around for any way to cross dryly. Felix wasn't bad at swimming, in fact he was quite good at it, but he didn't like to swim. He saw Dylan dragging a canoe into the water. Felix weighed the option of looking for another canoe between swimming. He decided to swim. With another heavy sigh, Felix kicked his shoes off and made his way into the water.

Ashlyn was about halfway across the lake when she looked back and saw Dylan dragging a canoe into the water. Personally, she viewed it as a bit of a cheat, but she couldn't remember any rule against it. Turning her attention back to the other side of the lake, she focused on the balance beam. For a brief moment she felt a surge of uncertainty, but she pushed it away. She'd come to this camp to build confidence, not destroy it. She forced herself to swim faster.

Dylan paddled across the lake, ignoring the incredulous looks cast her way. She was nearly halfway across when she looked to the side to see Whitney, splashing about in the water. She didn't seem to be going anywhere. With a sigh, Dylan maneuvered the boat over toward the other girl.

"Need a hand?" she drawled, checking to see if there was an extra paddle in the boat.

Felix saw the others a few meters ahead of him stopping, and he decided now was his chance to take a lead on them. Felix swam past the others, not too rapidly, but not slow enough to look like he was gloating, and made his way towards the shore. He saw the canoe begin to move again as he pulled himself onto the shore.

Felix saw a balance beam ahead of him and prayed it was not above any sort of height. He was sure he could balance across no problem if it was left at a normal height, but if it was over a pit, he might freak and bail, heights were not his thing.

Ashlyn watched as a boy from the Ruby team passed them. While winning itself wasn't a huge deal to her, she didn't want to let her team down. Pushing herself, she reached the shore and sprinted to the balance beam. She refused to slow down, not wanting to psych herself out. With a leap she was up and on the beam, teetering for a second before making her way carefully across.

Whitney quickly climbed in the canoe. "QUICKLY HE'S GETTING AWAY!" She exclaimed pointing at Felix. Whitney then began trying to paddle with her hands as if that would help, then finally resorted to trying to splash at Felix.

Glancing over her shoulder, Ashlyn watched as Whitney joined Dylan in the canoe. This time she couldn't resist a smile. This team might be a lot of fun.

Whitney waved at Ashlyn and nearly fell from the canoe. "ASHLYN STOP HAVING A TEA PARTY! HE'S AHEAD OF YOU!" Whitney squealed pointing at Felix.

Blushing fiercely, Ashlyn turned and sprinted across the balance beam. She hesitated at the tire. Was she supposed to wait for the team or...

Felix dashed to the balance beam, making sure to keep his eyes focused straight ahead. He did not want to take the chance of looking down and losing his cool. Slowly but surely, Felix made his way across the balance beam. Taking a second to glance behind himself, Felix noticed that a member from the opposing team was catching up to him, so he picked up the pace, and nearly lost his balance. Felix quickly recovered and finished the balance beam, but the member from the opposing team had already passed him.

Felix looked to the tire. It was nearly twice his size, and probably weighed twice as much. He had not noticed any of his teammates at all during the race, so he grabbed onto the tire, hoping that he could at least upright it.

Whitney got to the balance beam and tried to run across several times but kept falling off and into the dirt. She was covered in dirt by the time she swung her legs over the balancing beam and straddled it, she then leaned forward onto other stomach and grabbed the side of the beam with her hands and scooted all the way across it till she got to the tires. She instantly grabbed one, only to find she couldn't even get it a centimeter alone. She kept pulling, her feet losing balance and causing her to land on her butt, but this didn't seem to even dim her determination pull the tire.

As soon as Whitney grabbed the rope, Ashlyn moved to join her. Reaching out, she caught the rope and began to tug, throwing her weight into it.

Whitney soon realized that Ashlyn and herself were not making much progress. She looked over and saw feeling then put a hand on her hip and her other hand behind her head in some weird pose. "Yoohoo! Mister boy! Wanna help us with the tire?!"

Ashlyn giggled as her teammate called, ""Yoohoo! Mister boy! Wanna help us with the tire?!"

"I don't think he's going to help," she said. "He's from Ruby."

Whitney looked at Ashyln  "shhh he might forget" Whitney told Ashyln then waved to frantically at Felix. She then picked up the rope to her tire and held it out to him. "We need help, it's so hot today, and this tire is just sooo heavy!"

Ashlyn sweatdropped as Whitney whispered, "shhh he might forget." Was she serious? Glancing at her teammate, Ashyln nodded to herself. Yeah...she was serious.

Whitney lost her balance and fell flat on her face then got an idea. She stood quickly and started trying to push the tire onto it's side. "Help Ashlyn! We can roll it!"

"Right!" Crouching down, Ashlyn grabbed the edge of the tire and heaved. "Whitney, help."

Whitney pushed as hard as she could, her face quickly turned red as she strained her muscles and held her breath but before long the tire was up, Whitney then got behind it, and pushed it towards the finish line, then frantically chased after it trying to keep up.
